THAT FAQ:
What Is On The Rails?
It's a podcast! Specifically: a pop culture podcast in which actor/improviser Scott Thomas and actual cultural icons deep dive on the zeitgeist over drinks. But while they do, they’re also all playing a drinking game...one that no one knows the rules to.
Wait -- No One Knows The Rules?
No! The guests and Scott make up rules for each other. And they or the in-house engineer can issue a drink command within two minutes of the triggering event. So as drunkenness encroaches, everyone does their best to make sense of the world in a senseless manner while keeping the podcast...ON THE RAILS.
Can Folks At Home Play Along?
Yes — the week's rules are in the show notes so anyone can go sip for sip with Scott & Co if they’d like to. (...please drink responsibly.)
All Right, I'll Bite -- Why On The Rails?
Because though there are a ton of shows on which smart people smartly dissect hot topics of the day, they're often for folks "in the know" already. Not ON THE RAILS. By having our high brow discussions in a low brow format, we make pop culture and its key players approachable for all — the curious, the uninformed, and the already jaded. We want to celebrate and challenge the zeitgeist, then inspire others to do the same.
What do we mean by "key players?" Celebrities of course! Episodes are slated to include leads from Shonda Rhimes' new show For The People. Guests have already included members of Lizz Winstead’s Lady Parts Justice League and TBS’ show Search Party. These A-ish listers will appear alongside Santaland elves, master brewers, and freestyle rap champions. ON THE RAILS diverse mix of guests proves that interesting opinions on art, culture, and news are the purveyance of all.
Do Y'All Have Segments?
Heck yes we do!
I'LL DRINK TO THAT: Guests toast a person or work of art that's been rocking their world as of late.
YOU’RE CUT OFF: The opposite of “I’ll Drink To That”; guests take the culture that’s driving them nuts down a peg.
WEEKLY REWIND: Guests recap the week with a mix of irreverence, hot takes, and diversions into X-Files lore (…ok, that happened once.)
WHITE BREAD WATCH: Our regular check in with (straight) white male mediocrity —Justin Timberlake, Matt Damon, etc.
And What Will You Be Drinking?
Whatever we want! Scott and the guests will imbibe the poison of their choice and highlight it for our audience.
Do You Accept Donations?
(...Yes.)
(We'll drink anything.)
(Please send us stuff.)
How Do We Get In Touch With You?

Anything Else?
Yeah, we like Claws -- that's an underrated show.
Cool!
Go Bulls!
Yeah!
Alright!
...
All Our Best,
On The Rails
